Just like Citylight Fort Collins Church exists to multiply disciples and churches, we at Citylight Kids echo that by multiplying disciples in kids by helping kids meet Jesus, imitate Jesus and share Jesus through the gospel, relationships and service.
We seek to partner with parents in nurturing the spiritual development of each child and encourage them to actively participate in worship, Bible study, fellowship, and ministry opportunities individually and with their children. We want to nurture a child’s relationship with God, serving team members’ relationships with one another and children, and our relationship with families.
During all Sunday gatherings infants – 5 years olds are welcome at Citylight Kids. We pray children begin to believe and enjoy the gospel – the good news that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ – through activity-based, gospel-soaked teaching. This includes Bible stories, opportunities to share, and chances to respond to God’s love with faith and belief.
Citylight Kids is a place where kids are prayed for, cared after and get to have fun.
We are a safe place and take the responsibility of kids ministry very seriously.
We are looking forward to welcoming your children, ministering to them as they grow in their commitment to Jesus Christ, and serving alongside you as parents.
What to Expect
We desire for Sunday gatherings to be multi-generational and value having children in the room! Throughout the year we incorporate what we call a Family Sunday into our Sunday gathering rhythms. On these Sundays, Citylight Kids classrooms are only offered for infants through age 4. Our hope is that this will encourage families to participate in the gathering together in order to celebrate Jesus, delight in His Word, respond in worship, remember the Lord’s Supper, learn, witness, and prayerfully participate in baptism.
Serving Team Members
All serving team members will go through the application/background check process prior to serving during a Sunday gathering.
Citylight Kids will have a Check-In table at the entrance with serving team members ready to help with this process. For the security of the children, we will be using a label system. The labels will be used for checking in a child and also for checking out a child as well. No child shall be checked out without having a matching label that corresponds to the child’s label to identify the parent/guardian that is getting checked out.
Citylight Kids will have tents for the kids rooms. One tent will be designated for the children in the 0-2 year old age group. The second tent will be for the children in the 3-5 age group.
Each tent will have serving team members to serve your children. We have put in place some guidelines to ensure the safety and security of Citylight Kids. Never shall a child be alone with a young adult/adult volunteer.
• 0-2 Tent | “Rainbow Room” There will be hand sanitizer, volunteers will wear masks at all times inside the tents and will use protective gloves when feeding or changing a diaper. All toys will be cleaned and sanitized prior to setup and use.
• 3-5 Tent | “Polkadot Room” There will be hand sanitizer, volunteers will wear masks at all times when inside the tents and will use protective gloves when giving snacks. All toys will be cleaned and sanitized prior to setup/use. If there is a craft, each child will have their own materials and utensils, if something needs to be shared, that item will be cleaned/sanitized prior to sharing.
Citylight Kids has a strict bathroom policy that must be followed without exception.
Only the female check in team members or parent/guardian will help in restroom breaks. Two volunteers will assist in bathroom breaks to ensure the highest level of accountability and safety. Never will a child be left alone with a serving team member.
Only female nursery workers will undertake the diapering of children of either sex in a Citylight Kids classroom “tent”.
If your child has a minimal incident that requires the use of first aid, (band aid, insect bite lotion, etc) a citylight kids team member will apply first aid. If the incident is of larger scale than just applying a band aid, we will find the parent/guardian to inform them and assist in any way possible.
Citylight Kids team will be following the CDC and local COVID-19 guidelines for our tents “indoor space” to protect and ensure a safe space for kids, infants-5 years old. From the check in tables and in the tents we will have hand sanitizer. All adult serving members will use a mask when inside the tents. Serving team will sanitize hands prior to picking up a child/infant. If they need to swap kids/infants, they will sanitize prior to the change of child. All toys and playthings will be sanitized prior to each use and at the end of day.
We want to thank you for your trust and partnership with Citylight Kids. We believe in a good God and have confidence in Him. We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve you and your children!
We want to help kids meet Jesus, imitate Jesus and share Jesus!
Imagining Greater Things in Him!
