How it all started...
Our story started in March 2019. Phil and Paige Robinson had dinner with Andrew and Rachel Scheribel and started praying. A vision was born not just for one church, but to see a movement of church planting in Colorado and the nations through reaching the next generation.
Phil was serving a campus pastor at Citylight Omaha and Andrew was serving as the college ministry director at Citylight Lincoln. A vision trip in May 2019 led to a calling to Fort Collins. In October 2019, about 100 people attended a vision weekend to learn about the idea of planting a new church. This is when the video was first shown.

The Park and City Park Church
Because of COVID, we launched our first Sunday morning core team gathering outside on August 16, 2020 at City Park. It was an answer to prayer to finally gather together as God’s people. For 9 weeks we gathered outside amidst smoke and ash during the CO wildfires, high winds, and branches falling. But, God was at work.
In October 2020, we moved inside and started gathering at City Park Church on Sundays at 5pm. Our core team continued to grow to 130 adults and 20 kids. We held our first baptism on November 1st, 2020 and baptized 8 people. Five City Groups were launched and about 100 people got connected to a smaller community. After 5 months of Sunday evenings and navigating the waters of COVID restrictions, God provided a huge way for the next step…

Finding a Home for our Family on Mission
In early 2021, we met Pastor Marc Leverett at the Bridge Church. Three weeks later he handed us the keys to the building as a tenant. Their church miraculously voted in less than three weeks to move their morning service time so we could gather in their space on Sunday mornings at 9:30am.
We publicly launched on April 4, 2021 and have grown to 200 people with 7 City Groups meeting across the city to live on mission as spiritual families in different neighborhoods and networks. These are gospel communities where people are experiencing fellowship, sharing meals, sharing their lives together, growing in God’s Word, and living on mission to seek and save the lost. Since we started, 24 people have been baptized representing people who have publicly said yes to follow Jesus. We praise God for the work He is doing and believe He is just getting started!

Planting a Church in Greeley
Our vision is to see a movement of church planting in Colorado and the Nations through reaching the next generation.
By the grace of God, we are seeing God write that story! In August 2022, a new Core Team began meeting in Greeley Colorado and the church publicly launched in Spring 2023. Keith Brauneis, our previous church planting resident is a co-lead pastor alongside Jon Randall who was previously the Salt Company Director at Citylight Omaha in Nebraska.

Meet the Extended Family!
The Citylight Family of Churches is a family of autonomous churches that share the same DNA, Vision, and Values. Like a family, each church is governed independently and has its own unique personality that fit its neighborhood, but are connected strategically and relationally. We believe that God’s main mode of spreading the gospel is through the local church, and we have a vision to multiply disciples and churches.
